ORIGINAL 1967 UK Elektra Records Red Orange label FIRST STEREO PRESSING of LOVE'S fabulous second album "Da Capo". Catalogue Number EKS 74005 (Stereo).

Highly collectable original UK vinyl LP from the legendary ARTHUR LEE fronted American 60s psychedelic rock band LOVE, issued in 1967 and very sought after. This is the extremely rare and very desirable genuine UK Elektra STEREO FIRST PRESSING complete with the impossibly rare 'JUPITER PRESS LTD' UK printed fully laminated sleeve!! This is a magnificent album that deserves to be in any serious record collection. Truly an acid-psych / rock masterpiece!

Signed to Elektra records along with the Doors (who were influenced by them in their early days), Love were the kings of the Los Angeles psychedelic rock scene during the late sixties period - the "DA CAPO" album is regarded by Love fans as one of the greatest rock albums of all time.

(RARE 1967 UK ORIGINAL FIRST STEREO PRESSING....Mono copies of this lp are far more common. The vinyl surfaces retain original full shiny gloss with some fine wispy light hairlines and a few small inaudible light surface marks (but NO deep scratches). The vinyl has been well looked after through the years and carefully handled by myself from new. On playback the record delivers excellent audio throughout,great powerful sound clarity with only occasional minor static)

(The very rarely seen original 1st issue UK 'JUPITER PRESS LTD.' fully laminated glossy sleeve has been well preserved since the day it was bought over 40 years ago! There are a few light scuffs on the front, with some small creases mainly near the spine and edges, along with a little shelfwear scuffs on the top edge, nothing too serious. The back is very clean with a few light creases. The spine is perfectly legible and clear with just a small scuff near the bottom on the catalogue number. Overall this incredibly rare UK laminated sleeve is in solid VG+ near excellent condition)

Love broadened their scope into psychedelia on their second album "Da Capo", Arthur Lee's achingly melodic songwriting gifts reaching full flower.
The six songs that comprised the first side of this album are a truly classic body of work, highlighted by the atomic blast of pre-punk rock "Seven & Seven Is", the manic jazz tempos of "Stephanie Knows Who," and the enchanting "She Comes in Colors," amongst Lee's best compositions (and reportedly the inspiration for the Rolling Stones' "She's a Rainbow").
It's only half the album however, and the second side is given over to the extended blues/rock work-out "Revelation" (original entitled "John Lee Hooker") which is a stunning tour de force of a band at the peak of it's powers.

IMPOSSIBLY RARE, especially as a UK STEREO 1st Press RED ORANGE LABEL with the ULTRA hard to find UK 'JUPITER PRESS' FULLY LAMINATED sleeve!!! 99% were just paired with the US unlaminated sleeve, so these simply barely EVER even turn up!!! On original 1967 release this sold next to NOTHING!!! 

You simply HAVE to own this record - Released only a matter of months before the legendary Forever Changes, this lp contains some of the finest music ever recorded! Side 1 is a collection of absolutely flawless classics, and side 2 is one 18 minute Stones and Jazz inspired jam! From the opening harpsichord riff of Stephanie Knows Who, you know you're in for a trip!!! To name just two, the Maclean penned "Orange Skies" is an unbelievable song which could easily have slotted into the amazing "Forever Changes", and Arthur's "Seven and Seven Is" is an electrifying, ferocious psych masterpiece that HAS to be heard by everyone!!!  And that's not to even mention the monumental and timeless THE CASTLE.....Don't miss out on this, one of the greatest albums of all time....You will not be disappointed!! 

 Arthur Lee and Jimi Hendrix were good mates, and it's thought that "7 And 7 Is" (originally released as a single in 1966) directly inspired Hendrix to write "Purple Haze"!!!

EXCELLENT (EX): Shows only minor signs of being played with very little lessening in sound quality. The Cover and extras will have some light wear and or creasing

VERY GOOD (VG): Has been played many times but has no major deterioration in sound quality, despite some noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches. Cover and extras will have normal wear and tear but no major defects

GOOD (G): Has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and any extras may suffer from folding, scuffing, split spine, discoloration etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable and has considerable surface noise and may even jump. Cover and contents will be torn stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly. Covers badly damaged or partly missing
