LOVE – My Little Red Book / Hey Joe
ORIG London DEMO 45 / HLZ 10053 (UK, 1966)
So, here’s Arthur and Love’s debut UK 45. In general, this is by far the hardest UK Love single to track down. But here is a rare yellow label advance copy with unfinished, hand-written labels! I’ve never seen such labels either before or since I took ownership of this record. Very scarce indeed and possibly unique…
The labels show a release date of 17th June (1966) and are in decent shape with centre intact.
The vinyl shows plenty scuffing, mainly light, two or three more visible but none of the marking delves beneath the surface of the disc. Visually only VG – (Very Good Minus) but as outlined below, sounds much better than that
IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO BOTH SIDES and in spite of the markings, plays very well indeed. NO snap, clicks, pops or distortion were noted! Play grade far exceeds the visual one at EX (Excellent).
