 Transformer and "Walk on the Wild Side" were both major hits in 1972, to the surprise of both Lou Reed and the music industry, and with Reed suddenly a hot commodity, he used his newly won status to make the most ambitious album of his career, Berlin.
Berlin was the musical equivalent of a drug-addled kid set loose in a candy store; the album's songs, which form a loose story line about a doomed romance between two chemically fuelled bohemians, was fleshed out with a huge production and arrangements loaded with guitars, keyboards, horns and strings (the session band included Jack Bruce, Steve Winwood, Aynsley Dunbar, and Tony Levin).
Lou's vocals are both precise and impassioned - "How Do You Think It Feels," "Oh, Jim," "The Kids," and "Sad Song" are both powerful and bitter - one incredibly impressive LP

Clean, unmarked labels - no evident spindle traces - little sign of use
VINYL Visual: EXCELLENT
Some superficial marks are visible but none of these have any audible significance
VINYL Audio: EXCELLENT+
Great copy and my play-check at volume found practically nothing to fault - just a touch of low-level background noted and an isolated tick - nothing really - plays beautifully - exceptionally clean sound for this first pressing and in my opinion just about as clean as it gets
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT+
Clean, sharp and fresh - no edge or spine wear to speak of - all spine text is clear and bold - some light ring top back
