Classic Records has proven to be an Audiophile Company second to none in the new millennium. But Classic Records, unlike other top Audiophile Companies, does not place Limited Edition numbers on their LP jackets.

10 years ago, Classic Records changed their vinyl weight from 180 gram to 200 gram. Mymusicfix knows no expert that has been able to decipher a true difference in quality with this 20 gram weight increase.

What this change did for Collectors of the finest vinyl pressings was establish a First Edition element to Classic Records Audiophile pressings. All Classic Records 180 Gram pressings are now Out of Print and Very Limited Edition Collector's First Edition Pressings.

In the long term, First Editions will be what Collectors seek. When you look at Classic Records First Edition 180 Gram pressings. It could be one of the most collectible pressings ever in this 180 Gram First Edition.

And of course cutting at 45 speed is the audiophile choice for the highes quality. A 45-RPM record is sonically superior to a 33 1/3 variety because of a 35 percent reduction of groove curvature compared to a 33 1/3 cut.. It means that while you can't fit as much music into a 45, the undukations of the groove that your cartridge has to track are stretched over a longer distance. For these reissues, the music was displaced onto four sides, meaning each side contains about 10 minutes of music.

E-BAY STORE.  FOR YOUR INDIVIDUAL 45 speed SELECTIONS - INDIVIDUAL TITLE INFORMATION OR INDIVIDUAL PURCHASE JUST HIT THIS STORES TAB >. & TYPE IN  45LP OR 1STEDITION INTO THE SEARCH FIELD WITHIN OUR STORES SECTION AS YOUR PERSONAL CODE AND ALL INDIVIDUAL TITLES + INFORMATION WILL APPEAR

The only way you'll get closer to this classic music is to listen to the master tapes or have been in the studio with the artist originally during the actual session.

You will be one of the last people in the world to own this 1st Edition Masterpiece.

You should never pass up the opportunity to upgrade your collection. They're each very limited in their pressings and disappear with extraordinary quickness from the vinyl market. This causes prices to skyrocket because once they are gone, they are gone forever! Don't second-guess yourself with this chance to upgrade your collection because before you know it, the opportunity will have passed forever.

Altoist Lou Donaldson, who tends to get lost in the Blue Note all-star shuffle (even after making over twenty LPs for the label) is in his prime with this jam. Admiring the approach of Charlie Parker and Johnny Hodges, Donaldson combined the late 1945-55 bop alto scene with a heavy dose of r&b to come into his own. Originally released in 1959, one full year after the mono version, this set riffs on the space-race-craze, which was in full swing.

Lou Donaldson Sunny Side Up 180g 45rpm 2LP 753088403675

Incredible Jazz Records + the original analog master tapes + cut at 45 RPM + mastered by Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman at AcousTech + pressed on two 180-gram virgin vinyl LPs by RTI = THE ULTIMATE LP REISSUE!

The same formula that made the Fantasy 45 Series perhaps the most successful audiophile reissue collection ever is now being reapplied to Blue Note reissues!

In the late fifties and early sixties, alto saxophonist Lou Donaldson recorded primarily with his own quartet with pianist Herman Foster or with organ trios. Occasionally, he'd break the mold as he did on this February, 1960 session that was strictly a hard bop affair which includes trumpeter Bill Hardman and pianist Horace Parlan. There's still plenty of funk in evidence as "Goose Grease" bears out, but "Hardman's Politely," "Softly As In A Morning Sunrise" and "The Man I Love" find Lou digging deep into his bop roots.

Lou Donaldson Blues Walk 180g 45rpm 2LP 753088159312

Incredible Jazz Records + the original analog master tapes + cut at 45 RPM + mastered by Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman at AcousTech + pressed on two 180-gram virgin vinyl LPs by RTI = THE ULTIMATE LP REISSUE!

The same formula that made the Fantasy 45 Series perhaps the most successful audiophile reissue collection ever is now being reapplied to Blue Note reissues!

Lou Donaldson's undisputed masterpiece, Blues Walk, marks the point where the altoist began to decisively modify his heavy Charlie Parker influence and add a smoky, bluesy flavor of his own. The material is still firmly in the bebop style, and the mellower moments aren't as sleepy as some of Donaldson's subsequent work, so the album sounds vital and distinctive even as it slows down and loosens things up. What elevates Blues Walk to classic status is its inviting warmth. Donaldson's sweetly singing horn is melodic throughout the six selections, making even his most advanced ideas sound utterly good-natured and accessible. The easy-swinging title cut is arguably Donaldson's signature tune even above his late-'60s soul-jazz hits, and his other two originals, "Play Ray" and "Callin' All Cats," are in largely the same vein.

Lou Donaldson is joined by Blue Mitchell, Horace Parlan, Laymon Jackson, Dave Bailey and Ray Barretto for this 1959 session.

"A soul survivor in every sense of the term, this alto saxophonist is one of the few remaining jazz artists who made a major impact on the jazz community via an extensive run with producer Alfred Lion and the Blue Note label (Horace Silver being another Blue Note legend that comes to mind). From his first recordings for the label with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, it was clear that Lou Donaldson put melody and sound at a premium, coming up with an amalgam that combined the creamy smoothness of Johnny Hodges with the quicksilver bop inflections of Charlie Parker." – All About Jazz
