Description

"LORD SITAR - LORD SITAR"  2015 EU limited edition 11-track 180gr GREEN vinyl LP, released for Record Store Day 2015. On PARLOPHONE label. Catalogue No: SCX 8256 / 0825646186099. Barcode: 825646186099.

A kitsch classic, a lounge favourite, and very popular in Indian restaurants, Lord Sitar is an album of cover versions as diverse as ‘I Can See For Miles’ and ‘If I Were A Rich Man’ from the sitar of the late great guitar legend Big Jim Sullivan. On its initial release on EMI's Columbia label in 1968 there were rumours that the Lord was in fact George Harrison! This release sees it released on heavyweight green vinyl on the black and yellow 60's Parlophone label.

    I grade the records visually but strictly. Gradings are according to UK Record Collector's magazine grading system. The standard condition categories and a description of what each ones means are listed below. Please take a look.

    MINT (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or detorioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
    EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
    VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.
