LOOSE ENDS - 'Tax Man' 45 single.  Decca Records.  Die-cut Decca Sleeve.  'B' side - 'That's It'.

This auction is for a rare 45 rpm vinyl record in a custom Decca sleeve.

Not too much is known about this mid 1960s London based band, beyond the fact that they seemed to take their lead from the original Denny Laine era Moody Blues rather than the more progressive Move, and that their lead vocalist was one Alan Marshall. 

Their two singles for Decca included covers of Moody Blues and American R&B style numbers, and a superb hammond organ drenched rendition of the then new George Harrison song 'Taxman'.

Their sound, at least in the studio, was heavily influenced by Motown.

Later Alan Marshall and guitarist Pete Kirtley formed Happy Magazine, managed by Alan Price.

Pete Kirtley went on to work with Bert Jansch and Pentangle and release solo albums.

The band disappeared without trace leaving behind this superb Mod 45 in demand by collectors the world over.

Originally issued as part of the Decca Box Set – Decca Mod Masters Volume 2.
