Long John Baldry - Cuckoo/ Bring My Baby Back To Me

(United Artists UP 1158 UK 7" Single 1966)

This is an original UK 7" pressing in very nice overall condition. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has black "United Artists" labels with silver text. It has a 4 pronged centre. The labels have the "Sold in UK..." text. There is a "KT" company tax code embossed around the spindle hole on the B-side. The record has 1st press 45 UP 1158 A-1 and 45 UP 1158 B-1 matrix stampers. It comes complete with its original generic company "United Artists" paper sleeve.

This is a genuine UK 1st pressing. The A-side is a very good Mod Dancer/ Northern Soul track. It is available to hear on Youtube if you are unfamiliar with the track. The B-side is in a UK Blues/ UK R'n'B style. I have some other rare & collectable 1960's, early 1970's Psych, Mod, UK Beat/ R'n'B/ Freakbeat and Northern Soul/ Mod Dancer UK Original 7" Singles & EP's for sale. So please see my other items.

Vinyl: There is a very mild fingertip sized surface rub mark on the A-side. This is not too noticeable under a strong light. There is a very light 1 cm hairline surface mark at the start of the A-side. Again, this is not too noticeable under a strong light. There are two mild fingertip sized surface rub marks at the start of the B-side. These can only be seen under a strong light.

Otherwise, there are some light, mild, very mild or very minor sleeve rubs which can hardly be seen under a strong light. The original paper sleeve, over time, has left some light, very mild or very minor dull surface marks on some areas. These, again, can hardly be seen under a strong light. Overall, Very Good++ condition. The labels are in Very Near Excellent condition and show mild or very mild spindle wear only.

The original "United Artists" company paper sleeve is in Very Good condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.

I have play tested this single in its entirety & it plays Very Good to Very Good+ overall. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle in the background to a varying degree. This is only noticeable in the quieter places. It never overpowers the music. The music still shines through! The crackle is mainly more noticeable on the B-side, much less so on the A-side. There are no noticeable clicks or pops. Overall, a very serviceable audio copy.

I shall place the vinyl into a separate plain paper sleeve. This will protect the original picture sleeve from any damage during the shipping process.

Traceable insurance is already included in the stated P&P price for this listing.

Discount is given on P&P for multiple purchases. I shall always weigh combined purchases to get a completely accurate price.  So please wait for the invoice to be sent before paying. Please see below for a more detailed description.

  >>  Grading Information All grading is very strict & adheres to 'Record Collector' specifications. However, I have fine tuned them & they are explained below. All vinyl is examined closely under a strong light & play tested.

MINT Condition = A perfect copy! Almost impossible to find like this.

NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, There may be a very few, very light paper surface sleeve rubs that can hardly be seen under strong light. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. The sleeve is virtually perfect - there is very minimal wear only.

EXCELLENT Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows minimal defects. There will be light, very mild or very minor surface sleeve rubs. There will be no scratches. The cover will be very nice & clean with maybe minimal creasing, ringwear or edge rubbing wear etc...

NEAR EXCELLENT Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times, but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only. The sleeve may have light, mild or very mild creasing, ringwear & very mild rubbing wear to the edges etc.... Overall, it will be a very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.

Very Good Condition = A well played but very decent overall copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears etc... The record will not be trashed!!

Please note that I also use "+" or "-" symbols for this grading. A plus symbol is obviously at the top end of "Very Good" & is really not far from being in "near excellent" condition. The minus symbol obviously means it is at the lower end. This will mean that it is near to being in "Good+" condition.
>>  Postage Rates

AN INVOICE WILL BE SENT TO YOU VERY SOON AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS. PLEASE WAIT FOR THIS BEFORE PAYING.

(Please note that these prices include packaging costs too)
Double LPs are classed as two LPs. Also gatefold sleeves, posters, inserts, etc.. can increase postage costs.

Please note that there are now VAT import charges from the UK into all EU countries. Anything under 150 Euros will need an IOSS number. VAT is paid at point of sale. For any items over 150 Euros in value. There will be a customs charge too. These vary, I believe, from country to country. Please check your relevant postal service online for details. Please note that these charges are beyond my control and are the law for outside parcels going into the EU.

All records will be sent in high quality vinyl box/ mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7" Single. I use a cruciform box for larger orders (3-6 LPs). All parcels will be marked "Fragile" and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.

I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve & place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve; I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP(s).

I consider my postage & packaging costs to be very transparent & very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between £0.80 to £1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...

If you are uncertain about any of the above, or just simply want some information regarding any item, please do not hesitate to contact me. I welcome any questions.

Remember to check out My Other Items Lots of rare & quality vinyl! Most are UK 1st Pressings. It is quite likely that there will be more records by this artist, or records in a similar vein.
