Description
Please understand and excuse my lack of sales volume. I am new to E-Bay. I bought my first record in 1953 (a 78 rpm of Carmen Taylor's "Lovin' Daddy / Ding Dong") and have accumulated almost 10,000 vinyls through the years. I am an avid music lover and collector.....but not a record collector. Now retired, I have digitized the collection for my computer sound system. I still have the music, but no longer require the records. So I have decided to make them available for others to enjoy through E-Bay. Most of this collection was purchased by me as "new" items and have been sleeved and protected their entire lives. Records that I have bought from individuals may not have been as well cared for before my purchase, but they have been protected and handled properly since that time. The vinyl quality on most of my recordings will grade from 6 to 9, with the vast majority grading 7 to 9. (See my grading guidelines below.) All items have been marked for "black light" identification which is undetectable to the naked eye and in no way compromises the item. This record is a 45 rpm single of Little Willie John's 1960 recording "I'm Shakin' / A Cottage For Sale" on King 5342. Some minor "ringing" can be seen in bright light but it does not extend through the ink and into the label itself. There are four very small ink voids in the label on the "Cottage For Sale" side to the right of the title (see photo). Surface scratches on the vinyl are virtually non-existent and the vinyl has a nice gloss. I grade both sides of this recording at VG+ (8). The sleeve is a little worn at the top but all seams are solid and intact (see photo). Record labels, sleeves and/or jackets - sharp, clean photos are provided and I will point out all flaws that I am aware of. Vinyl condition - All records have been "play" graded using the guidelines below. I will not sell any record that skips. Good (5) - item shows obvious signs of use, probably evidencing that no protective measures were used. However, despite obvious "pops" and "clicks" in the playback, the record will play skip free and produce an enjoyable listening experience. Good + (6) - item is of the same description as "Good" except, despite obvious use, the record has been protected showing insignificant handling scratches and record noise that is not as distracting. Very Good (7) - item has a minimum of visual and audible imperfections which do not distract from the appearance or a rewarding listening experience. Some record noise may be noticed in low volume areas, but is subtle during the normal volume areas of playback and does not distract from the quality of listening. Record has been well cared for and protected. Played very little. Very Good + (8) - item is of the same description as "Very Good" except that record noise, if any, is subtle in the quiet areas and virtually undetectable during the normal volume areas of playback. Near Mint (9) - item has the sound and appearance of a "new" record. No surface scratches can be seen or heard. Not played more than 2 or 3 times. I realize there is still a lot of room for interpretation in these guidelines and suggest you e-mail for audio clips. Please request clips by song title. Unedited audio clips are available as 128 kps MP3 files. Payments - All payments are due in U.S. dollars. PayPal, cashier's checks and money orders are accepted. Personal checks accepted on U.S. banks only and must clear my bank before the item can be shipped. Payments not received within 10 days of auction close are subject to relisting. Non-paid items will be reported. I must reserve the right to refuse bids from buyers with excessive negative feedback. Shipping - U.S. orders are shipped USPS First Class Mail. The cost is $4.00. Orders outside the U.S. are shipped USPS First Class Mail International. The cost is $1.50 to help cover the cost of packaging plus the cost of mailing, which varies by destination. All records are mailed in sturdy, professional grade record mailers. Insurance is the responsibility of the buyer and is required on orders over $100. If insurance coverage on orders under $100 is waived, the buyer agrees to assume responsibility for loss or damage of the item once it has been mailed. Cost of insurance and mailing outside the U.S. will be quoted once the auction has closed and the amount of insurance and the shipping destination are known. Winning bids funded by PayPal can only be shipped to the address on the PayPal account used. Please feel free to e-mail with any questions you may have.
