ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING? :    Yes, it is....although the band pressed up 500 numbered copies of the CD version, they made a mere 100 of the vinyl version...and added two tracks (B2 & B3 below)...these two tunes have never appeared on anything else, and according to band, never will be...the sound is a monster LOUD cut and the tunes belt outta the speakers at you...brilliantly mastered...

OK...two bits of very important new information to hand, since I sold my other copy recently:

1. to start with, the band ordered 100 copies from Corduroy Records pressing plant in Melbourne...on purple-marbled vinyl...but when they arrived, the band weren't happy with the sound, and guitarist Mark Taylor kept 2 copies (he believes the singer Pete may have one too), and ALL the rest were melted down - destroyed. And 100 black copies ordered.

2. Mark told me recently that of the 100 black copies made, they sold about 15 copies ("if that!"), and gave about ten away within band members and immediate friends back at the time...and not long ago, he threw out the remaining 70+ copies...mulched them...destroyed. So there are literally less than 30 of this in existence...no more than 25 on black vinyl..and either 2, or 3, on purple vinyl. This copy here is the second copy that Mark had.

Oh, and the sound quality 'appears' to be perfect, by the way....I just played it all the way through...for its first time ever...I cannot tell any difference at all between this and the black one. There is a large light scuff mark on Side Two, a flaw from the pressing plant, but it has NO effect on play at all.

Comes in a plain black textured-card cover with only the band's name hand written (in cool semi-psychedelic style) in gold pen on the front (nothing on the back...any other artwork and info is contained on two inserts - effectively front and back cover inserts...the back insert has been hand-numbered, in gold pen, out of 100 (this one is #028/100), and also in gold pen, is 'a personal message to you from Doctor Stone'...each one of these was different of course...

(There are not 2 x #028 copies by the way...one purple and one black...Mark just replaced a couple of black vinyl ones with the purple ones he kept...and the one with the #028 numbered insert was one of the random copies he selected.)

Oh...the music: it's utterly 10-outta-10 stunning tough 60's style garage punk with a psych edge - the first 4 songs are originals, including a re-imagining of the Lipstick Killers first single (B1 below), and the latter two are covers of The Sonics and The Weeds (Fred Cole's band before The Lollipop Shoppe - 1966). Of course, the big thing is the rarity - I'd find it hard to imagine anyone wanting to get rid of it as it's SUCH an awesome record (I just happened to buy a couple at the time).
