Robert Lippok's release momentum has been as sparse and airy as his music, but we still very much consider him to be on our A-list in terms of gifted producers. He has paved the way for many contemporary like-minded experimentalists, and this reissue of Open Close Open on Raum is a delightful, clear-vinyl throwback of the 2001 original that was out on Raster-Noton. "Open" is a glitchy, shape-shifting bop of subtle bleeps and distorted air, while "Close" is more orchestral in shape and mood thanks to its disparate bird calls and placid pads. The second chapter of "Open" is, once again, a delightfully glitchy piece of minimalism, and "+" drops a fine layer of dubby tones alongside screeching sonics. Highly recommended.
