ROLLING STONES - MASONS YARD TO PRIMROSE HILL 1965 - 1967 PHOTOGRAPHED BY GERED MANKOWITZ
From 1965 - 1967, Gered Mankowitz was the photographer, friend and travelling companion of the Rolling Stones. Throughout this time he captured unique, breathtaking images of the band at work and play. His photograph for the cover of the Stones' recording 'Between the Buttons' is regarded by many as one of the most memorable album covers of all time.
This autographed large format book dispalys a remarkable collection of photographs hand picked from the author's personal archive. Most of the images reproduced in this volume have never been seen before, and many are in full color.
Masons Yard to Primrose Hill is strictly limited to 1750 numbered copies (this volume being 1678/1750), signed by Gered Mankowitz. It's 130 pages are printed on 200gsm matt art paper and bound in rich black quarter leather. The book has a superb silk-screened front board featuring The Stones and a two-color screen printed slip case.
In addition, an original photographic contact print of three images (taken directly from the negatives) has been hand pasted into the book.
A tribute to both The Rolling Stones and the work of Gered Mankowitz, this book is a collector's treasure.
