If you were to seek out the US pressing of this hot jazz rarity, you’d better be ready to pay the price – it’s a rare one – and it doesn’t turn up very often. In the midst of a bunch of sessions by Louis Armstrong, these sides by Lillie were cut. What a band! That’s Louis Armstrong on trumpet, Jimmie Noone on clarinet, Earl Hines on piano, Mancy Carr on guitar (aka the Hot Four). The Okeh recording session was in Chicago on December 11, 1928. They cut four sides that day. This was the second time she had recorded with his band, the other session was the previous summer.
This was issued in the US as Okeh 8660
