Lillie Greenwood was from Alabama, and for a while sought a career as a grade school teacher, but it wasn’t long before she caught the singin’ bug and left to try to make it as a singer. She moved to the San Francisco in 1948 (when she was 24) and got a number of singing gigs at area clubs including The Purple Onion. It was there that she was heard by the leader of one of the top R & B units of the time, Roy Milton & His Solid Senders.

Milton asked Greenwood to join his band as a vocalist and go out on tour with the unit. In March of 1950, Greenwood made her first recordings for the Modern Records label, and got a slot at the massive show the "First Annual Rhythm & Blues Jubilee" hosted by Gene Norman at L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium. Several more Modern releases followed.

In October 1951 Lillie Greenwood signed to the Specialty for a few songs, then by that following spring she moves on to King-Federal-DeLuxe Records based in Cincinnati, Ohio. This single is from her second session with Federal and it’s got her backed up by The Four Jacks on "Grandpa Can Boogie Too" and "Never Again" on Federal # 12093.
