LIGHTNIN' HOPKINS - LIGHTNING AND THE BLUES LP (ORIGINAL US HERALD COPY - HLP 1012).
A fantastic opportunity to acquire a legendary recording from big Sam Lightnin' Hopkins - I'll be sad to see this one go but it's now time for it to go into another collection.
This is a very well presented original US (1960) copy on Herald Records (HLP 1012).
The record in strong VG+ condition - the playing surfaces are fine and glossy with just a few light surface marks, the record plays through without any problems with just a little low lying surface noise as expected. There are no heavier marks or feelable scratches. There are no skips/jumps/unwanted pops. With some minor foxing to the otherwise clean labels.
The sleeve is graded in VG+ condition. With fantastic 'integrity' (especially when considering the age of this recording), noted is a light seam split on the bottom edge (about 1/3 across but not that noticeable unless it is physically 'exposed'), some general edgewear and light foxing, though none of this is that heavy or serious and I believe that this copy is better than VG.
