LESTER YOUNG & HIS ORCHESTRA-PRES 1956 NORGRAN RECORDS MONO COPY LP MG N-1072 IN A SOLID VG-VG+ CONDITION. NICE VINYL!! The tenor saxophonist on perhaps one of his finest recordings in this auction. His band is stellar, Buddy Rich on drums, the jazz bops along at a measured pace and is very tasty. All fans of the man, his band or the genre will love having this one in their hands.
Ok, time for the grading. The record is in what I call an "in betweener"(a VG or VG+, depending on your outlook) and one I normally would not sell since I truly hate even one hairline, let alone surface wear of any degree. That being said, both sides have light surface wear that when played I caught mild pops on three of the songs, nothing that made the record skip, but it was heard and reportable, side 2 had two of them with the song Undercover Girl Blues having the worst of the three. Again, no skips, double checked on that, the record played well throughout. The cover has a 1" mouth tear in the lower right hand corner and mild aging on the back. The original inner sleeve is intact. A terrific buy!!
