 Les Baxter's Jewels of the Sea is a great album of rich flowing melodies set in exotic instrumental arrangements. As a pianist who composed and arranged for the top swing bands of the '40s and '50s, Les Baxter is better known as the founder of exotica, a variation of easy listening that glorified the sounds and styles of Polynesia, Africa, and South America, even as it retained the traditional string-and-horn arrangements of instrumental pop style jazz.

The Record and Cover are in excellent (Very Good++) condition. The record vinyl is very clean and sounds great. The cover is also very clean (no seam wear or rubbing on front/back). Also included will be a high quality plastic resealable outer record sleeve. Auction photo may have a light gray spot(s) on left side of picture.
