Description
Up for auction is a copy of the rare Lem Winchester album "With Feeling...." originally released on Moodsville/Prestige Records (No. 11) in 1961. This is a guaranteed, original deep groove mono first pressing, with RVG in the run-out. Deep grooves on both sides. Vinyl is super heavy and inflexible, often reserved for early first pressings.
Cover is still in attractive condition, though not perfect. Lamination still retains its original high gloss shine, with no ring wear on front. Lamination, though, has some minor separations along right hand opening (see photo). Corners aren't bumped, but they do show some minor rubbing and chipping (see photos). Seams are strong and intact, no splits. Back cover is very clean, and bone white, as it should be. no ring wear to speak of. One small pen mark in lower left corner (see photo). Text is bright and un-rubbed. Overall, still a very presentable and attractive cover. I'd grade the cover VG+ (Very Good Plus).
The vinyl is in pretty nice condition. Still retains much of its original glossy shine. Does have a few faint hairlines and very faint superficial marks on the faces, though nothing that can really be felt with the fingertip. Labels are clean and bright, with only a small hint of a couple spindle trails. Clearly, this album has been played, but it's been well cared-for. I've play tested this record, and it still sounds nice, though there is some minor surface noise that fades in and out in places, but nothing that is really distracting or completes with the music. Overall, I'd grade the vinyl as VG+ (Very Good Plus). Not audiophile clean, but still enjoyable to listen to.
