Description
Up for auction is a really clean copy of the Lee Morgan classic album "Search For The New Land" released on Blue Note Records (4169) in 1966. This is an original MONO pressing with the Playstilite "ears" and "Vangelder" stamped in the run-out. Comes with original Blue Note factory inner sleeve. Still in opened factory shrink wrap. New York USA labels, no deep groove. All New York USA first pressings after 4081 did not have deep grooves. The ones that did used older pressing plates and were actually second pressings. This is a 100% guaranteed original first pressing. Still in the original shrink wrap, the cover has been very well preserved. The are a couple of very small perforations in the shrink wrap, but nothing that shows any effect on the quality of the cover underneath, perhaps only some very faint cleanable dust. Front cover is super clean, corners sharp, unrubbed, and no bumping. A little dishing to the cover from the tension of still being in the shrink wrap, but this would correct itself it you ever decided to remove the cover completely form the shrink (I wouldn't). Seams are strong, intact, no splits or cracks. Back cover looks nice and bone-white as its should, no signs of any age yellowing or discoloration. I'd grade this cover Near Mint (NM). The vinyl looks in great shape. Not obvious scratches or scuffs. Perhaps some very faint superficial signs of having been taken in and out of the paper inner sleeve. I'd say this record has been played a few times, but has been handled with extreme care. Retains its original high gloss surface sheen and luster. Side Two labels show some spindle marks, but Side One doesn't really, indicating to me that only Side One has been played. I've play tested this record and it reproduced amazing and clean MONO fidelity. Perhaps a couple mild ticks on Side One track One but that's it. Plays very quietly when it should, and sounds powerful and clear when it needs to be. A very well-preserved copy. I'd grade the vinyl Near Mint Minus (NM-). 100% satisfaction guaranteed.
