There is a dizzying array of reissues and repressings of this legendary Led Zeppelin album which was oiriginally released in 1971. I got my copy in the late-seventies and I have listed all the information I can see and done a fair amount of research too, but I can't pin an exact year of release on it. It does have "Strawberry" and "X" etched onto the run-out groove of Side One, but that has led me down a few blind alleys too.
What I can tell you is that the vinyl is in good shape and I have graded it VG+. I have play-tested it and it plays well throughout and still sounds awesome! The sleeve and inner sleeve are in VG+ condition too, and I can't remember if the slight sepia appearance on the inner sleeve - which is VG+ also without splits or tears and very strong cardboard - was always there to add to the whole ageing vibe of the medieval parchment effect with the lyrics to Stairway to Heaven printed on it. Anyway, if it wasn't intentional, it certainly looks the part!

Very Good Plus (VG+)
A Very Good Plus record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Defects should be more of a cosmetic nature, not affecting the actual playback as a whole. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are "OK". The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. Spindle marks may be present. Picture sleeves and inner sleeves will have some slight wear, slightly turned-up corners, or a slight seam split. An LP cover may have slight signs of wear, and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation, or cut corner.

I bloody love Led Zep, they were the first band that really hit me when I was 11 or 12 and I've stayed hit through the years! I love all sorts of other bands and music too, but this band was the first love. This album speaks for itself, so many Zep classics, but who couldn't fall for them when Black Dog kicks off the album?! Stunning. And it also features a rare/only guest vocal appearance on any of their records by the very wonderful Sandy Denny, from Fairport Convention.
But, all things must pass, as George Harrison once sang, and I'm selling a lot of my vinyl and CD collection, because the kids are getting bigger and the house is getting smaller! Basically, it was either the kids or the records, sadly the coin came down tails...Thanks for looking!
