The Chicago concert on April 9, 1977 only lasted for 65 minutes. It was cut short because Jimmy Page took ill on stage. Later his illness was attributed to food poisoning. The back of the sleeve states: “THIS IS THE COMPLETE SHOW IN WHICH JIMMY PAGE GETS SICK FROM CHINA WHITE”. Jimmy Page needed to sit in a chair to play the final track “Ten Years Gone.
Track Listing
Side 1
1. “The Song Remains The Same”
2. “Sick Again!”
3. “Nobody’s Fault But Mine”
Side 2
1. “Since I’ve Been Loving You”
2. “Ten Years Gone”
(The sleeve lists “Down By The Seaside” as the third track on side two but it is not on the record.)
The sleeve has been described as “Deluxe black and white with gold lettering”. The sleeve itself is in very good condition with no scuffing, very light surface marks and a few light creases near the edges. There is just a faint sign of partial ring marking. On the back there are some tiny white blotches near the bottom towards the right. They seem to be beneath the thin laminate surface and may be a fault in manufacture. Overall this sleeve looks very fresh.
Although this record has been played my own visual inspection shows it to be in excellent condition. There are a few very light surface marks but no significant scrapes that would detract from the enjoyment of the record. This record plays very well. The sound quality has been described by argenteumastrum.com as “Fair”. To me it is typical of a stadium recording.
This record is from my private collection which has been built up over the years by my son and me (see my other items). Some of the records in the collection are more than thirty years old but all have remained untouched for at least seventeen years. The records have always been cherished and well cared for and the same care will be given to their preparation for dispatch. I will use a “Record Mailer” to protect the record against damage in transit. I appreciate that this can add a little to the cost of postage and packing but the protection it provides is well worthwhile.
