Led Zeppelin : Physical Graffiti A1/B4/C1/D1 First Press
This first pressing plays to an exceptional standard with not one single click or pop. There is barely any 'background' and the clarity and definition on both records is as if they have hardly been played. In fact there is no spindle wear on either label and there is still some vinyl 'flecking' around the centre hole on the second record!
The iconic cover is also in fantastic condition and rarely seen as impressive as this. The edges and corners have none of the wear that is often associated with this cover and as per all the first and early pressings it has the 'red lettering' on the spine and the 'Swan Song' London address on the back cover
A genuine first pressing has the B4 matrix on S2 and 1 on all the others plus no Warner logo (W) on the labels.

Visual grading
The vinyls are visually stunning and are rarely seen as clean as this. They both have a fantastic glossy sheen and as stated have no spindle wear at all. There are no scratches and S2 just has a few 'wavy' lines often caused during the manufacture. S4 has a handful of minor hairlines on one small area and a faint scuff line on the final track but none of these have any affect on the stunning quality of the audio. The run out grooves and labels are also in pristine condition. A couple of minor imperfections but both records are in fantastic condition for certain.
Play grading
S1 is stunning! 'Custard Pie' quite simply plays 'as new' from start to finish, the clarity and depth of the audio is astounding. The fade out has no 'background' of any kind. 'The Rover' is of the same immaculate standard and both the opening tracks grade as Mint the audio could not be improved upon! 'In My Time Of Dying' has only minimal light static on the quiet intro and then plays with sublime quality and no clicks or pops. The clarity and definition is equal to that of a record hardly played and the other 'quieter' sections also play supremely well with only a couple of light static ticks. The remainder is stunning and the 'heavier' section has to be the strongest I have ever heard - wow! The power that blasts from the speakers is immense and there is no distortion whatsoever. A stunning Near Mint version for certain.
'Houses Of The Holy' on S2 is nigh on perfect with only a hint of barely audible static in the 'background' here and there. Perhaps not even worthy of mention as it plays with amazing quality and has no intrusion on the audio at all. Just a couple of static ticks at the end of the fade out. I will err on the side caution and grade as Near Mint. 'Trampled Under Foot' goes one better and grades as Mint- the power and depth of the audio is stunning. There are just a couple of crackle sounds literally at the end of the fade out. The classic 'Kashmir' ends the side with perhaps the most complete version I have ever heard. The sonic quality is off the scale and it is patently obvious that this track, in fact the whole side, has hardly ever been played if at all! This deserves a Mint grading the playback is exceptional and there is also no inner groove distortion, it needs to be played loud! What a version!

'In The Light' has the 'cleanest' intro I have ever heard and I cannot praise it highly enough, it is as close to pristine as you will find. With only a hint of mega light static right at the start it then plays with incredible clarity and only a couple of very light ticks. Superb! As the vocal begins there is no decrease in quality and this applies to the remainder of the track. The depth of the audio here is unbelievable! Each note is 'crystal clear' and it's like the vinyl was pressed only yesterday not 44 years ago! A Mint- version I am confident in saying and even the fade out plays with perfect precision. 'Bron-Yr-Aur' does have three crackle sounds on the intro but then plays with great clarity and no other 'background' so Near Mint- is fair here. 'Down By The Seaside' is Mint from start to finish as there is no 'background' of any kind and 'Ten Years Gone' closes the side with superb sound quality. The quiet intro has a couple of brief static/crackle sounds and then plays to a sublime standard and no other interference. Aside from that two seconds this is an immaculate version and the other 'quieter' sections play with great clarity. There is only minimal amount of inner groove distortion, something you always find with this track. The intro is Ex- with the remainder grading as Near Mint.
'Night Flight' plays with perfect precision from the first note of Bonham's cymbal and continues in the same way right to the very end. 'The Wanton Song' is of the same standard and both of these opening tracks grade as Mint as there is quite simply no interference and the clarity and definition cannot be faulted. 'Boogie With Stu' and 'Black Country Woman' are equal to this and again grade as Mint as there is no 'background' at all. Absolutely stunning! 'Sick Again' ends this fine album with 'high end' audio. The intro plays perfectly and the same can be said for the remainder. It plays with such depth and power and the section near the end where Bonham goes ballistic is incredible! Great power and no distortion at all. A stunning way to end the album.
In summary you won't get many genuine first pressings that play as well as this and have vinyls that are as visually stunning as this. There is not one single click or pop and in fact there is hardly any interference, just a handful (no more) of crackle sounds. Both records have been so well preserved and it is clear they have hardly ever been played - no spindle wear! The iconic cover is also in fantastic condition with hardly any of the wear that you so often see.
The Cover
This famous cover is in superb condition with hardly any shelf wear and for a first press it has been so well preserved over the years. The corners are notoriously difficult to keep clean but only the bottom two have only a minimal (very minimal!) amount of rubbing. The top two are near perfect. The sides are also in great shape with only one small area of light rubbing on the bottom edge. The 'red lettering' on the side is nigh on perfect with only one tiny rub above the L and E. Both of the top edges are in fantastic condition with none of the feathering which is a genuine rarity. The 'windows' on both sides could scarcely look any better, there is just one on the back that has one very small crease/rub. The front and back covers have no marking or spotting and it remains very strong and robust which can only be because it has been hardly handled.
This is a fine example of this cover and rarely seen as 'clean' as this.
Two Page Folded Insert and Custom Inners
The folded insert with the song titles and credits is stunning and has none of the spotting/staining that you so often see and the edges have no creasing either.
The two custom inners are quite simply 'as new' with no wear at all. They have the code 'SSK 89400/A' for record 1 and 'SSK 89400/B' for record 2.
The Labels
They are quite simply in superb condition with no spindle wear and no marking or writing.
