However, in the case of the EU all purchases are subject to VAT which eBay collect at point of sale. No shipping to Russia currently. Led Zeppelin I A1 / B1 2nd Press 1969 Red / Plum Press
This very early red / plum pressing plays to a superb standard with no interference. I have played every track in full (as usual) and the clarity, power and definition of the audio is stunning. With barely any distortion the sonic quality can hardly be faulted and the only real background is a little static on the 'Your Time Is Gonna Come' intro as is common. There are no ticks, clicks or pops on either side and this is without doubt one of the 'cleanest' version I have ever listened to. The vinyl is also in lovely condition with only some light hairlines, it has clearly not been played very much.
The laminated cover with the grey / silver band on the bottom edge is one of the best I have ever seen. It is so clean and is completely unmarked. The original Plastic Bags... inner (dated 0770) is also in fantastic condition. This is known as a second red / plum pressing and is recognised as Version 6 on Discogs. It has the Warner Bros / 7 Arts... publishing credits printed in one line on both labels.

Visual description
The vinyl is in lovely condition with a strong glossy sheen and no marks or scratches. Under a bright light I can only see a few faint wispy hairlines but they are purely superficial as they have no impact on the audio. You can only see them when you hold the vinyl at a certain angle. There is nothing that stands out and there is no groove or surface wear and no 'bag rash' either. The run out grooves are so clean and the iconic red / plum Atlantic labels are unmarked with only very minimal spindle wear.
Play Grading
The intro on 'Good Times Bad Times' plays very clearly with no intrusion as such and only the bare minimum of distortion. This soon disappears during Plant's opening vocal section and it continues to play with great clarity and power. Page's solo is so strong and dynamic and the closing vocal / fade out play perfectly with no background. Near Mint is a fair assessment of the audio. The acoustic intro on 'Babe I'm Gonna Leave You' plays beautifully and the first verse is stunning with not even a single dust tick. The first up-tempo section is flawless as is the following 'quiet' vocal and the 'baby cry' around the 1.40 mark is crystal clear! The next powerful section is 'as new' and for once you can hear all the notes, no 'muddiness' to the sound and no distortion either. From then on it plays with breathtaking quality - this a track that mixes it up so much between quiet and loud and yet the clarity, depth and power of the audio is STUNNING! There are no ticks, clicks, pops or static and the quieter end section plays so well with only a handful of very quiet statics, hardly worth a mention really. This has to be Mint- such is the quality of the audio. A hiss sound at the end of the fade out but the music has finished by then!
The intro on 'You Shook Me' has no background and you really notice how deep and strong the audio is. Jones' bass sound is very much in evidence and there is no 'muddiness' to the sound. Plant's opening vocal section is so clean with not one static let alone anything else and the long instrumental section beginning with the Hammond organ is superb! The clarity is so impressive, the sound so clean and warm and the harmonica section is equal to that. Page's solo has zero distortion on the top end and the next vocal... no background! The final high octane vocal section for once plays perfectly - the sonic quality from start to finish is stunning and Mint- is deserved at the very least.
The classic bass intro on 'Dazed And Confused' plays with impeccable clarity and the opening vocal is just as clean. The first 'powerful' passage is flawless and the quieter almost psychedelic passage is of the same high end standard. The next section with Bonham, Jones and Page going ballistic is outstanding! The power and definition of the audio is up there with the best I have heard and if there is any inner groove distortion it is kept to an absolute minimum, really does not need a mention! As the riff returns the audio remains strong and clear and the final vocal / instrumental has no interference either. There are no ticks, clicks, pops or static anywhere but I will grade as Near Mint just to be on the safe side, nonetheless it is a superb high end version.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The organ intro on 'Your Time Is Gonna Come' plays very clearly with only 3/4 minor statics and a little intermittent background static but it is not overpowering. By the time the volume decreases the playback is superb and as Bonham and then Page join in the audio is perfect. The first verse and chorus are just as good and it continues to play with real power and great definition. There is no interference and if the intro is Ex- then the remainder has to be graded as Mint-
The segue into 'Black Mountain Side' is 'as new' and that applies to the entire track! They obviously should have credited Bert Jansch but you cannot fault the quality of the music. Incredible clarity. Mint
'Communication Breakdown' then plays with immense power from the get go. There is no distortion and the opening vocal / chorus is just as strong. It continues to play with that familiar raw power and there is none of that 'tinny' distortion that you so often find. A stunning Mint- rendition with no background on the fade out either.
The vocal only intro 'I Can't Quit You Baby' plays with exceptional clarity and you can hear the 'echo' affect so clearly. The next vocal section is on the same level and from then on the clarity and warmth of the audio is second to none. A more understated Jones, it's Page and Bonham that take centre stage here, and the first instrumental of substance demonstrates that so well, the sonic quality is 'as new'. A relatively quiet track by their standards the playback is STUNNING and the final quiet verse / instrumental is a prime example of that. I will grade as Mint- and wow what a version!
The iconic bass intro on 'How Many More Times' is so deep and strong - perfect - as is the remainder of this section. Page first classic riff soon accompanied by Plant is so dynamic and there is no interference. Page's first solo is so strong and clear with only a minor touch of inner groove distortion as is standard! I only put it here to be 100% 'complete' with my grading, it really is so minimal. The following quiet section is STUNNING! The clarity of sound is phenomenal and as the volume builds there is no let up in quality, the 'crescendo' is up there with the best I have ever heard. As it reaches a climax Jones' bass comes in so strong, it's so easy to hear. The Oh Rosie.. vocal has no intrusion either and the next powerful section is as close to perfect as could, Plant's vocal scream is superb! The final vocal / riff section play so well with no discernible distortion, it truly is a fantastic listen. Page, Bonham and Jones finishing it with sublime power and clarity. I will grade as ranging between Near Mint and Mint- but it's certainly more of the latter!
The Cover & Inner Sleeve
The laminated cover is stunning and easily one of the best I have ever seen, it has been preserved so well. The edges and thin pinched spine are so clean without any rubbing and the corners are very strong also with barely any wear. The opening edge is more or less pristine with only a tiny amount of feathering at the very top. The front cover is totally unmarked aside from one small rub near the bottom left corner and there is only minimal laminate 'lift' next to the spine as is common. There are none of the usual laminate creases on the surface that you so often see, hang on just seen one very small one by the bottom edge! The back cover is in lovely condition with a little laminate 'lift' and 3/4 creases next to the spine. Minor issues. A superb very well looked after cover like I say, it would be difficult to find better!
The original poly-lined 'Plastic Bags...' inner (dated 0770) is in fantastic shape with no side splits or tears, hardly any age related fading and very little creasing.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask. Many thanks.
All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
