Description
LED ZEPPELIN IV LP (1971). ATLANTIC 2401 012
I am selling off records from my personal collection as I now have far far too many! Most are in EXCELLENT to NEAR MINT condition and are starting at low prices. Check out other items I have for sale now. I will combine postage for multiple items and will accept returns with a full refund if you are not satisfied with your purchase (you must pay return postage though).
Please note, I grade my records strictly according to the RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE grading system. In this case:
Cover is VERY GOOD+!
Inner is VERY GOOD-!
Vinyl is VERY GOOD!
As far as I have read and am aware, this is the earliest UK pressing of this classic LP.
If you look carefully you will see that the record company has stickered the label (on both sides) due to publishing credits being changed at the last minute. Later copies of this LP have this correct 'stickered' information on them (Kinney Music Ltd/Superhype Music Inc). You can see where the stickers are in the picture; above and below the white band on the label (my camera can't get a better picture than this, sorry!).
The sleeve is a high 'VG' grade. There has been a sticker of some kind - probably the original owner's name or personal catalogue number - removed from the back (look at picture above tower block) but this is barely noticeable really. The spine is a little worn but apart from that the cover is fine.
The rare flipback paper inner sleeve has the usual 1"/2" splits on 3 sides where the vinyl has worn through and there is a 3" tear through the top of the inner (look carefully at picture, it runs between 2nd and 3rd of the four symbols). I would say overall it's a low 'VG' grade.
The LP itself is on quality vinyl and has 'Porky/Pecko Duck' inscribed on the run out grooves. There are hairline marks and a few more noticeable marks but the LP still looks clean and shiny overall. I would give this LP a solid 'VG' grade visually. in terms of sound, there are a few crackles here and there in quiet moments but no jumps or big clicks, again I feel this must be given a solid 'VG'.
All in all, though hardly mint, I would say this is a very decent playing copy of a classic rarity. This LP must have been bought by someone in 1971 within the first few weeks of it's release in the UK and is therefore a little piece of Rock history. I've owned it for 20 years or so and have treated it with the respect it deserves!
