Description

LED ZEPPELIN - LED ZEPPELIN IV

A very nice copy of this 1971 UK 1st press Led Zep gem, with the truly excellent stereo sound quality being a real highlight

Year/Label : 1971 UK ATLANTIC Label number : 2401012 Matrix numbers : 2401012 A//3, 2401012 B//3 (with "PECKO DUCK" and "PORKY" etched onto the side 1 and side 2 run-outs respectively) Stampers :  1 1 1 1  / 11 6
Very good plus (VG+) condition vinyl (many would grade as "excellent" I am sure) - completely flat and retaining an impressive jet black lacquered sheen, coming across as barely marked in normal daylight and it is only with close scrutiny under a bright light that just the occasional very fine wispy hairlines and extremely faint paper scuff come into view on each side - certainly nothing feelable and all appearing to be purely superficial (the truly excellent stereo sound quality is testament to this).   The UK1st press iconic red/plum labels are in excellent (EX) condition - near perfect with the only blemishes being a few small and very faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label. Note the "Peter Grant" production credit on each label - synonymous with UK 1st pressings.  A solid very good (VG) condition Day gatefold outer sleeve - the edges and spine remain firm but there is intermittent mild scuffing on the top and bottom edges and some sporadic light scuffing on the firm spine. Each corner remains a nicely defined right angle with mild scuffing, the opening edges are firm with no fraying (just a couple of small "dinks" on the front opening edge) and the colours and art work remain clear and vibrant. The only other blemish is a 7cm horizontal crease mark perpendicular to the front-side opening edge towards the top right corner where there has been an inadvertent partial fold - this crease can be seen on the inside of the gatefold also (see my photos). There are also just a couple of small and very light handling/storage marks towards the edges but these are very trivial. Still fully functional and still highly presentable. Truly excellent  (EX) stereo sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, distortion, clicks or background crackle. Great tone, wonderful clarity and every track standing the test of time and making for a great listen.  Comes with original and very good plus (VG+) condition thin cardboard lyric/credits inner sleeve with just a little fraying and a single 1cm tear on the opening edge and an 11cm split in the middle of the bottom edge. Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original.    A very nice copy of this Led Zeppelin classic - a "must have" for any serious rock vinyl collection!
POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £3.38 using Royal Mail tracked 48 (ebay "Simple Delivery");

for continental Europe £11 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,

and for the rest of the world £17 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
