Description
HERE is an ultra rare copy of the short-lived and swiftly withdrawn 'Livin' Lovin' Wreck' first pressing of Led Zeppelin II on UK plum Atlantic vinyl from 1969, complete with true first press green-tinged cover.
Both plum and orange Atlantic labels featuring the 'Livin' Lovin' Wreck' and 'Lemon Song' miscredits are absolutely perfect with nothing untoward - no unwanted writing, no rips and no sticker residue or damage.
Both sides of this well cared for disc look virtually faultless with hardly a mark to be seen even when examined under strong halogen lighting - the vinyl grades a comfortable EX and plays fantastically throughout from start to finish, both sides. In fact playback from this earliest press copy is phenomenal, with amazing stereo separation, panning and echo trickery providing a rock feast for the ears. My test-play was pure pleasure, with all that growling guttural bass, exhilarating lead guitar and thumping percussion - probably the best playing copy of this LP I have ever heard, with no jumps or skips, only the lightest background and no more than a couple of light ticks at the start of Bring It On Home.
The ultra rare first press unlaminated gatefold sleeve with green tinged spine usually turns up in terribly tatty condition but this copy is a very presentable VG with no tears, no rips and no writing but just some typical signs of handling wear including edgewear, spinewear, cornerwear, rear ringwear and light creasing here and there. As you can see from my photos this is easily one of the better examples of this rare first press green-tinged sleeve to be seen these days.
