Description
Led Zeppelin II 1969 UK original vinyl album on the Atlantic plum label, catalogue number 588198 (stereo).
The numbers and letters stamped on the vinyl are:- Side One: 588198 A//5 1 1 1 2 Side Two: 588198 v B//4 1 4 XXXX 1 5 (the 'XXXX's seem to be something that's crossed out)
Please note that the Side One label lists track 3 as 'Killing Floor', although the gatefold lists the same track as 'The Lemon Song'.
This is a heavy vinyl and although not warped it is very slightly dished but plays perfectly well. There are a fair amount of light surface scratches running across Side One and Side Two, but they are very slight and I can't feel any of them. Both sides play smoothly and clearly all the way through. There is a little light crackle wherever it can be heard between tracks and where the music is quieter, but it's a great sound with really nothing to complain about at all. The vocals and instruments are very clear and dynamic, there are certainly no sticks, no skips, no jumps. The audio is of a high standard with just a few very minor surface sounds.
The track title can be seen on the label photographs. The labels have quite a lot of spindle line, but no writing, no damage.
The cover is a gatefold type, it doesn't have any coating or laminate. There's light surface rub wear front and back and on the tips of the edges and corners. There are a few small indents and scratches, there's a small turquoise stain to the left of the group on the airman's uniform and some general handling marks visible on the white parts. The centre piece looks fine, not much different from when it was new.
The spine is quite wide and square and probably in excellent condition as it's fully readable with just a bit of rub wear at each end and some small scuffs along the edges.
The inner sleeve came with it originally, I think, but it's different to my other Zeppelin sleeves - it's just plain cream paper without any lining and 'Made in England' and a patent number on it - it's in pretty good condition, no splits, no tears, no writing.
I have checked the Record Collector grading system and I would say the cover is a bit better than 'very good' and the record is probably 'very good+'
I have described this as carefully and honestly as possible, but it is a no return item so please bid accordingly.
It will be packed in a record mailing box (cruciform) with two pieces of card inside for further protection.
