LED ZEPPELIN II RL Robert Ludwig HOT MIX SP. First U.S. pressing on Atlantic records with 1841 Broadway on the labels. RL intials indicating Robert Ludwig etched in deadwax on both sides as well as "SS" for Sterling Sound. Super rare edition featuring a louder, bassier "hot mix" that was only on the earliest editions of this title. This mix was quickly removed and replaced with the more common mix that the bass was shaved off considerably. This is a Specialty pressing pressed in Olyphant Pennsylvania in 1969. I have had quite a few RL Led Zeppelin II's pass through mu hands, and most are Presswell copies that are typically scratched the hell, this is a rare one in nice shape. The Specialty mix has some anomalies I noticed when I test played all the way through. During the song "Thank You", there is a few areas where the "ghost" of the vocal appears before the vocal happens. This appears on other pressings as well, but I noticed it happens more on this pressing. This seems to be a pressing anomaly, not a condition issue, the "ghost" also happens in the organ fade out at the end, may just be an issue with the tape or metal master the pressing plant received?

Vinyl is in VG+ condition all around, there are light marks on the vinyl that cause random crackle. Side 1 is closer to VG because of some noise in between songs at the fade-out of "What Is And What Should Never Be". The fade happens, then some noise that may have been caused by a needle drop? It only happens for a few seconds during the fade out, and doesn't ruin the listening experience. Side 2 is a solid VG+, no issue, great sound. If you haven't experienced a RL mastered Led Zeppelin II, your in for a treat! Super deep bass and punchy loud audio.

Cover in VG with some rubbing, edge wear including the top edge where there is some paper seperating. Some spine wear as well, all seams and spine is intact.
