LED ZEPPELIN II RL Hot Mix 1969 Atlantic SD 8236 MONARCH pressing as indicated by the "MO" on the labels. 1st U.S. pressing mastered by Robert Ludwig at Sterling Sound. RL and SS etched on BOTH sides.
This is the Hot Mix 1st version that was quickly removed from circulation because of it's monstrous bass. Subsequent pressings sound bottomless and quieter compared with this beast!
Like most every copy of this edition, this one has been "enjoyed" quite a lot, and the hairlines and wear attests to this. Still an enjoyable listen. Side two is better condition than Side 1.
VINYL in G+ condition all around. Side 1 rated G/G+ with feel able scratches that cause repeat clicks and pops noticeable in quieter segments (fortunately not too many quiet parts of this title). The end of "Thank You" has very noticeable click at ending at fade out.
Side 2 in better shape, rated G+/VG. Moby Dick is often plagued with noise during the drum solo, this copy plays VG! Bring It On Home is VG as well.
COVER in VG with solid and fully sealed seams. Spine has rubbing and some chipping at the bottom, fully readable spine. Initials "J.T." written in red pen on bottom left corner of front cover. Rubbing and some chipping starting on bottom seam though still intact.
INNER SLEEVE included in VG shape, very nice.

US 1st pressing, featuring Robert Ludwig's "hot" mastering on both sides. These were withdrawn early because the high bass levels caused low-grade cartridges to mistrack, leading people to return the album on the belief that it was defective. Another engineer was then hired to recut a much less "hot" version of the album, and that is the far more common version.Labels include "MO" suffix (indicating Monarch pressing) and "Mfg By Atlantic Recording Corp., 1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y.". On all matrix Side A and Side B there is "MR" in a circle that identify a Monarch pressing.
Some copies came with one or two hype stickers: one mentioning Whole Lotta Love and the other with a tracklisting.
