Description
This is the 1960 U.S. ATLANTIC RECORDS ROBERT LUDWIG HOT MIX FIRST PRESSING of the LP titled 'Led Zeppelin II' from Led Zeppelin. It is Atlantic Records U.S. catalog number SD 8236, heavy cardboard gatefold cover, packaged inside the cover in its original Atlantic Records stock company sleeve with color pictures of other then-current Atlantic Records LP releases.
'RL' is etched in the runout area on both sides, followed closely by the small 'SS'.

Normally I would not sell a record in this G condition grade, but this particular record is in high enough demand and is normally expensive enough in higher condition grades so that someone will probably want this copy for the lesser price - Visual condition of record is G at best with quite a few surface marks which cannot be felt and a very few surface scratches which can be felt. Record plays with some crackly surface noise and scattered light ticks throughout, with the surface noise particularly prominent in the quiet areas and in the drums-only track 'Moby Dick'. In areas where the full band plays the Ludwig hot mix completely drowns out the surface noise. There were no skips in the areas of the record I play tested, which were the areas affected by the surface scratches. The saving grace of this package is the VG+ condition of the gatefold cover, which is pretty nice with some contact wear and some age discoloration and some wear along the edges, no splits, tears, writing, or stickers. Atlantic Records stock inner sleeve is also real nice with a little bit of age discoloration, no other flaws worth mentioning.
