Description

LED ZEPPELIN II LP Album - 1969 Atlantic SD 8236 "RL" Cut, MO

Note: US 1st pressing, featuring Robert Ludwig's "hot" mastering on both sides. These were withdrawn early because the high bass levels caused low-grade cartridges to mistrack, leading people to return the album on the belief that it was defective. Another engineer was then hired to recut a much less "hot" version of the album, and that is the far more common version.  In the last 2 pictures I included with the entire record pictured, you will see what looks like white marks but those are just my reflection from taking the pics over the record.

Labels include "MO" suffix (indicating Monarch pressing) and "Mfg By Atlantic Recording Corp., 1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y.".
Matrix / Runout:  ST-A-691671-MO - CC RL ss LW ?13933 W AT  On all matrix Side A and Side B there is "MR" in a circle that identify a Monarch pressing.

Condition:    Record is in good condition with clean labels.  Record has a lot of scratches on both sides with 1 skip about 10-20 seconds in on Track 2 "What Is And What Should Never Be". The record actually sounds a lot better than it looks.  Cover is in poor condition with a split at the top that goes from the opening where you pull the record out all the way to the spine.  The spine has a center split that measures about 4" inches.  Comes with plain white paper inner sleeve.

  • Because of the fact that it does skip one time this item is being sold as-is with no option for return or refund.

Records are graded visually:

*MINT CONDITION - THE ONLY TIME I USE MINT IS IF A RECORD IS FACTORY SEALED AND UNDAMAGED

*NEAR MINT CONDITION - LOOKS UNPLAYED OR RARELY PLAYED

*VERY GOOD++/EXCELLENT CONDITION - VERY LIGHT OR MINOR SURFACE SCRATCHES OR SCUFFS OR PAPER MARKS CAUSED BY THE INNER SLEEVE THAT DO NOT EFFECT PLAY. BASICALLY, A VERY CLEAN RECORD WHICH IS CLOSE TO BEING NEAR MINT.

*VERY GOOD+ CONDITION - LIGHT BACKGROUND NOISE AND MAY PLAY WITH MINOR POPS. MAY HAVE LIGHT SURFACE SCRATCHES OR SCUFFS BUT NOTHING MAJOR.

*VERY GOOD CONDITION - MAY HAVE SURFACE NOISE AND LIGHT POPS BUT THE RECORD WILL PLAY COMPLETELY THROUGH WITH NO SKIPPING. STILL GOOD ENOUGH TO LISTEN TO AND ENJOY.

*VERY GOOD- CONDITION - MAY PLAY WITH LOUDER CRACKS OR POPS THAN A VERY GOOD CONDITION RECORD AND SURFACE NOISE WILL BE LOUDER AS WELL. RECORD WILL HAVE MORE SCRATCHES OR SCUFFING THAN A VERY GOOD CONDITION RECORD. I DO KEEP RECORDS IN THIS CONDITION IF THEY ARE HARD-TO-FIND UNTIL I COME ACROSS A BETTER CONDITION COPY TO REPLACE IT WITHIN MY OWN COLLECTION.
