LED ZEPPELIN - HOUSES OF THE HOLY LP VINYL original UK 1st Press Album A2/B2 with Obi
This is a genuine and complete first UK pressing of Led Zeppelins Houses of The Holy 1973 album. I know because it’s from my own personal collection, and was bought by me on release.This is the only complete first pressing that I can see on EBay at present as this record has :
1 Textured thumb notch inner sleeve
2 Original Paper Obi strip
3 First press matrix side A K 50014 A2, Side 2 K 50014 B2
The vinyl record is in excellent condition and plays perfectly from start to finish on both sides. It is virtually mark free apart from a fine graze through track 4 side 2 . I only mention this to be complete in my description as this blemish has no detrimental effect at all on the track .For any record, never mind a 1973 release the vinyl is in excellent condition.
The gatefold sleeve too is in excellent condition both inside and outside , with no tears, creases or writing anywhere and the spine is totally intact and solid and all the colours vibrant.
The record labels likewise are bright , vivid and 100% intact with little spindle marking and no rips, tears or writing.
The textured inner sleeve has the first press thumb indentation (very rare, and without it, that record is not a first pressing.) It is in very good condition, although there is a small 2” tear at the opening where the record goes in. There is also foxing on the sleeve but personally I think this helps to validate the records age rather than any visual retraction.
The Obi is in good general condition although being so delicate has sustained a little wear and adhesive staining on the corner seams. Bearing in mind it’s fragility and age it’s in remarkably good condition - most Houses from the 70s don’t even have the Obi!
