Welcome to the World of MacLizardking’s Music.
“Sealed & Mint Albums”
Greetings music lovers and welcome to another of my LP listings here on the ‘Bay. This is a new listing template, as it’s something very, very special. Some time ago, it occurred to me that if I had a time machine, I’d get a message back to the ‘60s and ‘70s to a close friend or family member, requesting they stash a box of ‘those’ seriously collectable albums, bought on the day of release, and leave them safe for me to pick-up a few decades later and offer up here! Now, obviously the one fly in the ointment is the lack of a time machine … sooooo, I decided, when funds allowed, if I bought myself a copy of a corker, I bought two; one for me, and one “for the box”! ‘The box’ being a container to store all my un-played / un-opened gems … in some cases still even sealed in the original cardboard packaging in which it was mailed to me!
So, if I have ‘my’ copy to hand, I’ve taken pictures of mine, but have also clearly taken pictures of the sealed item actually being auctioned. Now, whilst I traditionally ship with the vinyl outside of the sleeve, these are sealed items, which I will package as carefully as I always do, but if you want the item opened and shipped outside of the sleeve, that is your choice, so just let me know! Additionally, where I have used detail and images from the copy I kept, I am assuming that as they were bought from the same supplier, on the same day, the release will be the same. But, as you’d expect from me, all of these details will be clearly spelt out below, but I wanted you to know why these listings look a little different!
Please note, I am not an e-Bay business, just a record enthusiast who lists accurately and packages beautifully, always as best I can, whilst keeping both quality of service and product as my prime mantras from start to finish of the process.
Here’s the MacLizardking deal for ‘mint’ items folks…
· I grade honestly and strictly to the “Record Collector” system, all as detailed below.
· I package each item personally and with a ludicrous level of care…practically a work of art!
· Please see the final photo within the carefully taken selection above for an example of my packaging.
· I strive to provide the VERY best product and services possible, with detailed, accurate descriptions.
· I do all this as I genuinely love both music and people, and eBay is a fantastic forum for both.
· Please do check my feedback… it even amazes me as to how kind buyer’s comments can be!
Peace, love and good health …
MacLizardking … a.k.a. Rod.

Introduction and MacLizardking’s Initial Review: So, here’s a serious slab of Zeppelin history: a sealed 3LP, 180g vinyl box set capturing the band’s legendary reunion concert at London’s O2 Arena on 10th December 2007, performed in tribute to Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. Spread across three heavyweight records, this is the full Celebration Day set, with Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones joined by Jason Bonham for a thunderous, beautifully recorded run through some of the most iconic rock music ever committed to vinyl.
This Celebration Day box is a proper collector’s piece: three heavyweight LPs housed in a substantial box set, with the concert moving from the opening punch of Good Times Bad Times, Ramble On and Black Dog through the epic sweep of No Quarter, Dazed And Confused, Stairway To Heaven, Kashmir, Whole Lotta Love and Rock And Roll. In sealed form, it’s a cracking auction item — pristine, imposing and packed with the sort of landmark live material that made the 2007 O2 performance feel less like a reunion and more like a final, triumphant reminder of just how immense Led Zeppelin could be.
Having bought a few of these, the first three images are of the item being offered for auction (sealed) and the remainder are of ‘my copy’, so you can see what’s inside.
Now, whilst there’s really nothing more to report on with this gem, being ‘NEW’, please read on for the full details and any pertinent information … being both my personal description statement and accuracy of condition guarantee. Please also examine the stack of photos within the listing detail above, as I attempt to highlight every component, both positive and negative, to assist with your decision as to bid or not. But, obviously no play grade as sealed!
Detailed Cover & Inner-sleeve Review.
Specific cover grading: Mint – sealed, brand new.
Comment: None.
Record Collector Sleeve Gradings;
M (Mint): “The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition”
NM (Near Mint): As M, but also as “Sod’s Law” occasionally dictates, with one miniscule physical flaw, that has no effect on the overall quality of the item yet means it’s no longer “perfect”; i.e. a solitary tiny rub-mark or dink.
M- (Mint Minus): A notch below NM, but indicating a cover that’s still in fantastic condition, though it‘s just possible to see it’s been slid carefully in and out of a collection over the years; i.e. lightest speckled lower edge ware, the odd tiny stress crease to or a whisper of fuzzing to extremities of the corner tips.
EX (Excellent): “The cover and packaging might have light wear and/or creasing”.
VG (Very Good): “Normal wear and tear on the cover and extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable”.
G (Good): “The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc”.
F (Fair): “The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced”.
P (Poor): “The cover or contents will be badly damaged or partly missing”.
Detailed Vinyl/s & Labels Review.
Specific Vinyl grading: Mint – sealed, brand new.
Comment: None.
Record Collector Vinyl Gradings;
M (Mint): “The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.”
NM (Near Mint): As above, but, as “Sod’s Law” occasionally dictates, with one miniscule physical flaw, as detailed above, that has no effect on the overall quality of the item, yet means it’s no longer “perfect”; i.e. a solitary spindle-mark, production mark or blush, but still aurally perfect.
M- (Mint Minus): Still a truly beautiful vinyl, that it’s just possible to spot that it’s been played before. Possibly the lightest of paper-marks on the physical or even a whisper of crackle on the play-in’s alone, but still practical perfection on the aural.
EX (Excellent): “The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality”.
VG (Very Good): “The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch”.
G (Good): “The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches”
F (Fair): “The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump”.
P (Poor): “The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise etc”.
B (Bad): “The record is unplayable or might even be broken and is only of use as a collection-filler”.
After the auction…
Informed customers are happy customers!
Expect to receive the following mails;
1. Initial “You’ve Won!” auto invoice e-mail, offering tracked and insured postage.
2. Payment received e-mail. Feedback is also left at this stage. You’ve done your bit, so now it’s up to me!
3. Dispatch notification e-mail; your gem is on the way, also detailing the Royal Mail tracking reference.
Postage & Packaging Charges:
I’ve finally succumbed to the offer of the e-Bay postage services and them handling the Royal Mail element for me, so the individual price is as per the detail above. This is the same for combined items … e-Bay calculates the cost.
It’s ALL the same careful, slightly ocd packaging, but I’m leaving all the pricing to e-Bay, as seems to provide the best tracking options and pricing for you lucky lot, as well as the path of least resistance for me! I’ll post pretty much anywhere globally, and will dispatch as soon as I can, often the day after payment, but as this is a bit of a hobby, I’ve used the “10 working day” disclaimer in the body of the listings.
Problems, Refunds & The “Boink” Factor:
· Dependent on the e-bay rules, if the item you win differs from the description above, I will refund your original payment.
· Refund will be issued on receipt of item, in original packaging, in the same condition as when dispatched.
· Proof of dispatch certification is retained for every package.
· I take GREAT care with packaging and have only ever had 3 arrive damaged out of over 3000!
And finally…
Whilst this may all appear slightly excessive on the detail front, I do go to great lengths to ensure the accuracy of these listings and promote “service” and “honesty” as treasured commodities as, on rare occasion, I have found them to be lacking in (one or two) others with whom I have dealt on e-Bay… however, NOT here! I feel I should also add that I have been professionally involved in either the music or entertainment industry for 20 years and as a fan of all genres of “quality” music since year “dot”… To verify all this manic attention to detail please do check my feedback, which I go to great lengths to keep positive and my buyers are both cool and kind enough to leave.
OVER 3000 POSITIVE SALES FEEDBACK RATINGS CAN’T BE WRONG FOLKS!!!
My genuine appreciation for looking at my listing and checking out the blurb. I hope this finds you well, under “blue skies” and at peace with your world, whilst listening to some groovy tunes on the greatest format ever, lovely, lovely warm & natural vinyl!
Cheers, peace & love, and good, good music!
MacLizardking.
