Description

This is the wonderful Led Zeppelin IV (4) LP. It's an original stereo recording on the UK Atlantic label (catalogue no. 2401012) and was released in 1971 and I believe it is an early pressing. The music is wonderful throughout and this is a record which, in my view, should be in the collection of every serious rock music fan.

OUTER SLEEVE - The gatefold sleeve is in pretty good condition with some wear on the front and on the rear. There is a mark on the rear of the sleeve but this doesn't detract from the overall quality of the sleeve. The rear of the sleeve is in fine condition with minimal damage. The inner portion of the sleeve is in fine condition with minimal wear.  The edges show some wear. The spine shows some wear and although there is no original wording along the spine someone has written 'LED ZEPPELIN' in blue ball pen at the top of the spine. There is no wording at all on the outer gatefold sleeve. I have graded the sleeve as VG+.

INNER PRINTED BAG - This is light brown in clour and has the lyrics to 'Stairway to Heaven' on one side with the track lisings for both sides on the other and the following wording - 'SANDY DENNY APPEARS BY COURTESY OF ISLAND RECORDS - RECORDED AT HEADLEY GRANGE HAMPSHIRE - ISLAND STUDIOS LONDON - SUNSET SOUND LOS ANGELES CALIF. - INSIDE ILLUSTRATION 'THE HERMIT' BARRINGTON COLBY MOM - DESIGN COORDINATION GRAPHREAKS - PRODUCED BY JIMMY PAGE - EXECUTIVE PRODUCER PETER GRANT'. There is a small tear on the side with the 'Stairway' lyrics as well as a 18mm x 22mm chunk missing on the same side. Both these blemishes are at the mouth of the inner bag. I have graded the inner bag VG+.

RECORD - The record itself has been well played with some superficial marks on both sides. There is definite surface noise over the two sides of the record which is mainly audible between tracks and there are very occasional pops and clicks on both sides. There are definitely no jumps or skips on any of the tracks. The labels are the original red, plum and white Atlantic type with black wording and both are in fine condition with some spindle marks. This record has been well played. Considering its age this record plays very well. There is no damage to the labels on either side. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are as follows - side one  - 2401012 AV1 420 1  1    2 - side two - 2401012 BV1 420 1  1. I have graded the record as VG++ and I believe that this is very fair.

I try to grade everything as accurately and conservatively as possible. The winner of this auction will not be disappointed. All my items are 100% guaranteed and can be returned for a full refund if the buyer is not satisfied with the product. Please see my feedback for any references required.
