Featuring cover art Terry Gilliam would be proud of, all things dark and light move up two gears powering the hovering Zeppelin into overdrive. I can't begin to guess how they worked in the studio, but being mid-1969 I can still see them as a disciplined bunch much to the disgust of critics who tried to trip them up on any atomic particle they could sniff at. Punchy, stinging, echo fed riffing by Jimmy Page on its headbutt in the mouth opening notes clarify that rock as a standout genre had just found new paymasters, their willing debauchery only outweighed by talent and innovations the devil himself would sell his soul for. Pop - the smug sexist yet wholly lovable 'Living Loving Maid', joyous and ironic folk rock - 'Ramble On', and side-alley con job fury - 'Heartbreaker'; all sweet revenge for that Hindenburg incident.(From: rateyourmusic.com)
Gatefold sleeve: VG. This gatefold sleeve has protected the vinyl ,which has fared much better, particularly well. The wear on the top and bottom edges is significant and although all writing on the spine is fully readable, the spine also has wear. One sticker with a name(?) on the inside gate as per the picture in the listing. There are NO large creases and I would say that it would still be a nice item for your collection if you can deal with the storage wear mentioned. More from this wonderful collection will be listed in the near future.
