Description

THE LEAVES "Hey Joe, Where You Gonna Go?" b/w "Be With You"

Original November 1965 pr0m0 only 45 on the MIRA label, MONO 207

Plays VG to VG+

Sold for $158 in 2007

Here’s the MUCH harder to find ORIGINAL November 1965 mix of the Leaves’ classic “Hey Joe,” pulled and re-recorded because the band didn’t care for the mix.  Which is amazing, really, because it shows them to be an absolutely DEVASTATING raw garage punk BEAST when they wanted to be.  This mix of “Hey Joe,” titled “Hey Joe, Where You Gonna Go?” is about a MILLION times punkier and infinitely more exciting than the much more common mix released a year later.  It’s got the same ferocity and manic guitar sound that Arthur Lee and Love had on “7 And 7 Is,” and a non-stop take-no-prisoners energy that would have kicked the a** of anything else on Lenny Kaye’s original Nuggets collection.  Believe me, you’ve never heard “Hey Joe” like this before.  Even by the Leaves.

HEAR THE RECORD YOU'RE BIDDING ON:

Winning bidder pays $4 shipping in the US (each add'l 45 adds only 50 cents), $6 to Canada (each add'l 45 only $1 extra), and $8 everywhere else except Italy (each add'l 45 adds $2).  Italian customers must add $33 for registered insured priority airmail - no exceptions - because otherwise your mailman will be playing your record on his home system by this time next month.

Paypal accepted, as well as other methods too.  Payment expected within 14 days of auction end, which I think is pretty fair.  Don't make me track you down.  I got a mortgage to pay too.  Thanks for looking, and good luck bidding!
