LEAF HOUND - self titled

A highly presentable copy, with gleaming vinyl and superb audio reproduction, of this extremely rare & sought after 1971 UK 1st press prog/heavy rock gem on the highly collectable red & black TELEFUNKEN record label, STEREO, SLE 14604-P

A lovely condition original copy of this 1971 German hard gem with glossy jet black sheen & earliest matrix vinyl (EX at least) - nicely heavy and absolutely flat with just a few extremely light paper scuff marks on each side, along with a couple of very light line scuffs on side 2, and each only visible with close inspection under a bright light...clearly this LP has been sparingly played;     near perfect (EX+) condition labels - if you look very, very closely you may just be able to spot a couple of small and extremely faint spindle trails on each label adjacent to the centre hole - otherwise perfect, with the black text upon the beautiful red smooth background, along with the iconic black & white TELEFUNKEN logo, all in pristine condition;      nice condition (VG+ but closer to VG than EX) 1st press laminated both sides) outer sleeve with firm and unscuffed edges (except at the corners), well defined right angled corners, firm opening sides with no feathering or fraying, firm spine with all spine text intact, and all art work, photos, and text in great condition - there are some blemishes, however : there is obvious rubbing at the bottom right corner where a 1 cm bottom split exists right on the corner, there is a small area of laminate lift on the front side next to the spine, there are a number of 1-2cm light laminate surface creases on the front side adjacent and perpendicular to the top, bottom, and spine edges (similar laminate creases exist on the reverse side also), there is a 6cm score mark on the reverse side to the left of the "Side 1" track listing (see photo), and there is a faint 2cm wide horizontal shadow band that traverses the front and reverse side (I assume this to be a 1st press manufacturing fault) - despite these relatively minor blemishes the outer sleeve remains very presentable;  included is the highly sought after original black and white poster, which is in overall great condition (no tears, splits, or stains) despite having a pin-hole in each corner, and x3 tiny nicks and a small gash towards the top edge (see photo);      comes with original plain white inner sleeve with which does have a 4cm split in the middle of two of the edges (note that I always house the vinyl inside a brand new poly-lined inner sleeve for shipping purposes in order to protect the original);      brilliant (EX+) audio quality with no sticks, jumps, repeats, skips, clicks, interference or background crackle...simply great tone throughout. The tremendous stereo audio quality really is hard to fault play it loud, this is great rock music with some amazing guitar work.

A true early 1970's prog/heavy rock gem. 1st pressings (especially with vinyl and audio quality in condition as impressive as this) are very hard to find. A special addition to any serious rock vinyl collection.

On the subject of postage, I take great care in the packaging of all items, using a proper vinyl thick cardboard mailer, along with extra protective flange edges, with at least two thick cardboard stiffeners. I take great care in separating the record from the outer sleeve in order to help prevent sleeve damage in transit and I always insert the vinyl, outer sleeve and inner into a clear plastic sleeve, thus adding further protection.

Mint

The records itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items, such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and /or creasing.

Very Good

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents are torn, stained and/or defaced

Poor

The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents are badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad

The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler
