Lazy Smoke -- Corridor Of Faces LP
Original 1969? stereo private pressing on Onyx Records (catalog # ES-6903, green labels), with large slat containing artwork glued on front, smaller slat with tracklisting glued on back. NOTE SERIOUS CONDITION ISSUES OUTLINED BELOW.Well, not many comments necessary here. One of the holy grails when talking about the US psychedelic scene. Beatlesque psych rock with simply great songs and cool guitar effects from this Boston band. This is a scarce original pressing -- according to Acid Archives this first pressing was an edition of 100 copies only.
Download mp3s of All These Years and There Was A Time and for more mp3s from obscure records check out the ampnoise audio blog, and search ampnoise records eBay store for listings with mp3 downloads.ampmp3 Photo and scan of copy for sale:CONDITION: Cover VG+ / Vinyl G- cover is excellent, very strong VG+, no splits, clean, barely any soiling or handling wear, just a small tear in front slat and some normal wrinkling due to the hand-done glue job; WARNING: even though the labels are Near Mint, the vinyl has seen many years of heavy play, and so has A TON of wear, scuffs and a number of SERIOUS LOOKING scratches and gouges, side 2 has two long, lateral deep scratches -- however, I have auditioned the entire LP and it actually plays alright on my turntable, WITHOUT SKIPS OR REPEATS but with some surface noise, background tics and brief passages with loud tics (mostly due to a splotch of something in one of the worst songs, a ballad -- this splotch could possibly be cleaned off, but there are other tics due to scratches.)
Please check the mp3s above to hear EXACTLY how this copy sounds, as they were recorded straight from the LP with NO tweaking or editing, one song from each side so you get an idea that this LP plays pretty decently despite looking scratched up.
