Description

Lajos Kentner: Same as Louis Kentner ?

Louis ( Ludwig ) Kentner ( 19 July 1905 - 23 September 1987 ) was a Hungarian, later British pianist. Studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Budapest from 1911 to 1922 with Arnold Szekely (piano) and Zoltan Kodaly (composition). He was awarded 5th Prize at the 1932 International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, and won a Liszt Prize in Budapest. Moved to England in 1935. He gave radio broadcasts and many recitals, was also President of the British Liszt Society for many years.
