Description

LA BANDA TRAPERA DEL RIO "S/T", Lp, Belter, Spain, 1979

This is one of spanish Punk's holy grails, one of the rarest records by a spanish Punk band. The original edition of the only album the band released while still existing. Not a reissue! La Banda Trapera del Río were the very first real Punk band in Spain. No spiky hair, no studded belts, no pose... Just four young lads from Cornellà, a heavy neighborhood on the wrong side of the Llobregat river, near Barcelona. They used to get in trouble with the law, and their wild stage attitude and lyrics were a good sample of their extreme lifestyle. They were the Stooges and the Sex Pistols of a country where the real Rock and Roll had died more than ten years earlier. Their sound owes a lot to the coolest 70's Rock and Roll and early Punk (Stooges, New York Dolls, Rolling Stones, some Pistols, some Ramones... -even some Radio Birdman although they were never aware of them-). They were inventing their own brand of Punk rather than copying it from elsewhere. Unfortunately they passed unnoticed for most people at the time. They were too extreme for the media as their songs weren't suitable at all for broadcasting.

Condition: Cover is G+, with some spine split that has been rapaired with tape, some creases, some peeling on top and bottom edges, some ring wear and a 2 1/2" split near the opening edge on the front cover. But there are no pieces missing or serious damage. Vinyl looks G, but I'd say it plays surprisingly VG+. There are surface marks and hairlines, but the surface noise is hardly noticeable. No jumps, cracks, scratches or disturbing noises. I think I'm undergrading this item a bit, but I want the winner to be 100% happy with this record. Finding another copy (in any condition) is nearly impossible.

Attention: Shipping LP's from Spain to non-European countries isn't cheap. I only charge the actual postage rates, but due to the strength of the euro, it could still be more than what you're ready to pay. So, to avoid disappointings, please ask before bidding.

Please, see my other auctions with similar stuff. No reserve! I combine shippings. I accept Paypal only from foreign bidders. No checks, please! Para España: Paypal o ingreso en cuenta. I recommend registered mail for foreign bidders. If any questions, please get in touch. Thanks for looking!
