Kurt Weill Threepenny Opera Klemperer UK Columbia SAX
The Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Otto Klemperer perform Kurt Weill’s "Threepenny Opera" Suite, three Waltzes by Johann Strauss 11, and Klempere’s own "Merry Waltz" (and it is). An English stereo pressing on the Columbia Label (SAX 2460), the labels are blue/green with silver radio waves and border, and black stereophonic flash. The record is of excellent appearance, and plays and sounds superb with some low-level surface noise. The cover’s laminate has rubbed badly and the back is a little grubby.
