King Oliver's Creole Jazz Band on Gennett 5133. This is the first King Oliver recording, April 6, 1923. The band incliudes Louis Armstrong, Lil Hardin, Johnny Dodds, Baby Dodds and others. So it must be Armstrong's first recording also.
Both sides are upbeat and hot. One of the very earliest classics by the greats from New Orleans, The Cradle of Jazz.
The record is in very nice gloss "E-" condition and plays great.
