Description
Released in 1975 a very unusual compilation of South African soul hits including tracks by King Kennedy, Johnny Windemere, The Moonlight Expressions plus a handful of international covers on Ring Records, catalogue number RG(C) 1011. Vinyl is in EX condition, sleeve has some cellophane loss on the front so graded VG+.
The influential and highly informative South African music website ElectricJive had this to say about the Sukasambe series:
"This compilation of rather special South African Soul Hits (appears) on the Ring Label . Ring were targeting a diverse South African “soul-craving” public who, despite apartheid boycotts in the 1970s, were still getting visits from the likes of Tina Turner, Doby Gray, and Percy Sledge. These compilations sprinkled in some international hits, but this mix focuses mostly on those composed by South Africans . I am unable to tell you who the performers are (except for the ones mentioned above) – all help and suggestions are most welcome – please! What I am sure of is that there is an appreciable South African audience who, if they were to hear this compilation, will be transported back through an intense and soulfully ingrained lost sound-track from their lives"

Shipping- All vinyl records are packaged outside of the covers in new soft plastic anti static inner sleeves to avoid seam splits, wrapped in special protective material, placed between top and bottom LP sized cardboard sleeves and then packed in custom made vinyl boxes. All orders have Fragile stickers placed on both sides.
International airmail postage costs from South Africa to the rest of the world are high. Most single LP shipments range between $18-$20 depending on exchange rates on the day.
