Description
King Crimson, Lizard. 1970 First Pressing. ILPS-9141 (Island Records) – Pink Rim Vinyl Labels and Rare inverted spine text. Matrix – ILPS 9141 A 2-U / B 2-U. This is the rare version with spine text inverted; normally the text on record sleeve spines reads from the top to the bottom. This one begins at the bottom. This was a mistake in the early production process of the first pressing that was quickly corrected. First pressings were sold with both kinds of sleeve: the correct-orientation spine text and the inverted misprint.
Comments: This version has the Pink Rim on the vinyl labels and also has "? 1970" on center right of both labels. On side 2 the duration for Track Bc is given (10:55), but there are no times listed for the sub-tracks within 'The Battle of Glass Tears'. There is also a misprint on the sleeve: The spine text inverted; normally the text on record sleeve spines reads from the top to the bottom. This one begins at the bottom. This was a mistake in the early production process of the first pressing and was quickly corrected. Outer sleeve is Excellent with just some light creasing in a couple of places. Vinyl is Excellent with a little, light crackle and occasional pop at the quietest points but brilliant really when you consider the age ….this is over 50 years old I have visually checked and also played the vinyl through to check, hence my comments.

Vinyl and sleeve is graded as per the grading system below;
Mint (M) - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
Excellent (Ex) - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good (Vg) - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable.
Good (Gd) - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc
