Released  52 years ago,  'In The Wake of Poseidon' (ILPS-9127) was King Crimson's follow up to their magnificent debut album 'In The Court Of The Crimson King'.  'Poseidon' is very similar stylistically, musically, and lyrically and therefore many fans often considered it as a kind of, "Part 2".  It is a beautiful and complex album.  Side 1 in particular is as memorable and powerful as anything the group has ever released. 
On offer is an early UK pressing from 1970.  Though the matrix numbers "officially" designate this a 2nd pressing (1st pressing, 2nd run), I can assure you that the audio is every bit as detailed and impressive sonically as the very first. In fact, some audiophiles prefer this particular pressing due to it having a bolder sound. It is a difficult record to find (the UK pressing in particular) in very clean condition.  Island Records pressings have always been a bit of a lottery....sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.  
Gatefold Cover:  Excellent-.....the heavily textured front and back is very striking.  Despite its age it has held up quite well.  Minimal wear to the spine and edges. Colors are still bold and vibrant.  Inner gatefold is very clean save for a bit of paper loss to the bottom of the left panel (see photo).  An inoffensive bit of writing at the upper left of the left panel as well.  A very strong example of a jacket that is often found battered and worn.

Record:  Side 1: Excellent / Side 2: VG ~ Ex-.....visually both sides look Near Mint...a wonderful like-new shine to the thick and heavy vinyl. The fully and heavily textured labels are truly flawless.  My grading is very conservative to avoid disappointment.  Vintage UK pressings of this album are rarely found in better condition.
