Description
For sale is the Kevin Rowland & Dexys Midnight Runners' Too-Rye-Ay, originally released in 1982 on Mercury Records. This is a promotional copy with a gold stamp on the back cover. In the dead wax between the labels and the last track is stamped "masterdisk", indicating that this record was mastered at Masterdisk, N.Y.C. who is known for their state-of-the-art engineering and the superior sounds that result from it. I bought this used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. The inner sleeve is Excellent with two bent corners. The cover is graded as VG+ because of stress cracks, a corner blunts, edge wear and a gold stamp on the back cover. The spine has color loss and a little paper loss at one corner. The vinyl is visually graded as VG because of surface scratches, sleeve marks and some smudges. It's play graded as VG because of surface noise and an occasional pop, most noticeable during the quiet sections. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I bought it and still has a lot of life yet. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
