Description

This 12" LP recording was recorded and released in 1956 by ABC/Paramount. Kenny Dorham had the misfortune to play beneath the shadow of Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie but his energetic style and lyrical playing influenced countless musicians. The selections of this LP are "The Prophet", "Blues Elegante", "DX", "Don't Explain" and "Tahitian Suite". The LP has some scratches and surface noise but doesn't deter the great be-bop emmenating from Kenny and the sidemen. (Dick Katz, piano, J R Monterose, tenor, Sam Jones, bass and Art Edgehill, drums) Both the record and the cover would rate good- in my opinion. Not for the audiophile but is worth having just for Kenny Dorham's playing. Buyer in the USA will pay $4.00 shipping. International buyer would pay for added postage.
