Kenny Carter – ‘I’ve Gotta Get Myself Together’ / ‘Showdown’ – RCA 8841 wd (USA)
I guess the jury is out on which version of ‘I’ve Gotta Get Myself Together’ – penned by Larry Banks under his Fred Skau alias – is the best; this, the original, or Spyder Turner’s. I’m inclined to think it’s the Kenny Carter. In any case, it’s a top tune in top condition; don’t miss it!Condition: Excellent; one tiny mark that is not audible (please listen to the clip). The ‘I’ve Gotta Get Myself Together’ label is clean, the ‘Showdown’ has some slight discolouration; both sides are stamped “May 12 1966” on both sides (please see scans).
