Description
Welcome to our page !
Here is something neat for sale. This is actually a 1957 Kenny Burrell album but the group name is "The Prestige All Stars." The title is "All Day Long." This LP is issued on Prestige Records and the catalogue number is PRLP 7081. Second mono pressing. This was intended as a super-session album. Later reissued as "Kenny Burrell-All Day Long" with an alternate cover.
Vinyl is VG-/VG with some fairly minimal surface wear. The playback surface is actually pretty clean except for a few light to moderate scuffs here and there but nothing really too major. Side two has a few more light to moderate scuffs but again, nothing too major. Features the original yellow Prestige label. The label does contain some light to moderate spindle marks, but not horrible. Address as stated on the label: 446 West 50th ST., N.Y.C. We played this LP back and it really does sound pretty darn good. We played this using a Sumiko Pearl cartridge, processed through a Technics pre-amp and pumped through an Adcom power amp and Boston Acoustics speakers. The static factor was fairly low for the most part, but is a little more prevalent on the quieter passages. Recorded by the legendary Rudy Van Gelder. RVG is also inscribed in the dead wax.
Cover is G- with some pretty substantial wear. Unfortunately, it has seen better days. However, we do not consider the cover to be shot. It just shows signs of normal wear over the years. The cover has lost some if it's original gloss. The Clarifoil is starting to flake off in places around the edges. The back cover slick is worn and it is brown mostly on the right hand edge. The top edge is split but is still held together by thirty year old Scotch tape, which we will not try to remove. The spine is worn, but is still pretty readable. There is a name written in ink on the back cover slick on the lower portion. Overall, in letter grades, we would give this a D+ or a C-. Please see pictures for a better description of the cover.
We are perfectly aware of the fact that the cover is not in the best shape, however, we are selling this based solely on the fact that it can be a nice addition to any classic jazz collection, West Coast or East Coast. It is imperative to build a jazz collection starting with the masters and this LP features many of them. We shall begin this at a low starting price.
