Description

ORIGINAL ACID TEST LP WITH KEN KESEY AND KEN BABBS WITH THE GRATEFUL DEAD IN BACKGROUND

This ultra rare 1966 album recorded during an actual LSD Trip by the legendary Ken Kesey & Ken Babbs, with music by The Grateful Dead. This very rare album was available for a very limited time in San Francisco, and is meant to convey what an acid trip was like for the listener.''

I purchased this in Berkeley and Moe's Music long ago.

From front cover the words of famous rock reviewer Herb Caen of San Francisco Chronicle

The Acid Test:  A Sound City Production - Ken Kesey and others ( )  From the

front cover:  "Shortly before he disappeared into limbo, or even Mexico

Novelist Ken Kesey and his "trips" buddies recorded an album at Sound City

Recorders on Sixth ST. What makes this an item possible, is that Ken et al

were high on LSD at the time, and kept getting higher as the recording

progressed. The album is titled "the Acid Test" -Kesey's idea-and will be

priced at $5.95. In fact, the only thing ordinary about this record is that

the wole's in the middle..." (Herb Caen).

The record is in great shape and plays well.  The music?  Well let's just say they were very high on acid including the Dead and this was an experiment.

Very Very Rare

Cover in good shape.

Back side pictured is tad bit dirty.

Remember this album is 43 years old.

The sides of the album cover are torn on two sides but torn right on the crease and can easily be glued back. I did not do that as I did not want to mess anything up. Considering the rarity of the album I assume the collector is going to frame it.

To that end I am sending it a plastic record cover suitable for wall mounting.
