This is the Vinyl Me, Please Country exclusive pressing of Keith Whitley – Don’t Close Your Eyes, Whitley’s beloved 1988 album and one of the most emotionally influential records in modern country music.
Often cited as a cornerstone of the neotraditional country movement, Don’t Close Your Eyes helped pull country music back toward intimacy and vulnerability at a time when the genre was drifting slick. Songs like “When You Say Nothing at All” and the title track cemented Whitley’s legacy as a singer who could say more with restraint than most could with volume.
